Towards Volatility Analysis in Software Product Line Engineering

Traditional domain analysis methods support the modeling and specification of commonalities and variabilities in software product lines. However, these methods do not provide a concrete way to reason about volatility. The key insight of this paper is to show some open issues in volatility analysis in SPL engineering and to introduce an initial research path to address these issues based on aspect-oriented and model-driven techniques.
