I am a member of the Software Systems group, where I lead the Automated Software Engineering team. My main research topics lie in advanced modularization for software development, requirements engineering and architecture design, model-driven development, variability management and trade-off analysis. I have been involved in several projects on advanced software engineering techniques, such as MDD, SPL, and AOSD. I publish regularly at major scientific events and I am responsible for several successful international and national research projects. I am a member of the editorial board of the TAOSD and SoSyM international journals and a member of the Steering Committee for MODELS and AOSD. I am, and have been, involved as organizer and program committee member in major international conferences (e.g., ICSE, MODELS, RE, ECOOP, CAiSE, AOSD) and several smaller and regional ones. I co-organized various international workshops and I am a co-founder of the international movements pUML and Early Aspects. I was Conference Chair and Program Committee Chair of several events and, more recently, was the Foundations Track Chair for MODELS 2013. I co-authored the “Most Influential” paper for the past 10 years on Aspects, awarded in Fukuoka, Japan, at AOSD’13.
