Nuno Miguel Nuno Cavalheiro Marques is an Assistant Professor at FCT/UNL since March 2001. He has got his Ph.D. degree in January 2000, on Computer Science by UNL. His PhD thesis focused on efficient models for part of speech tagging and subcategorization acquisition from large text corpora. His work conjoins Machine Learning in Artificial Neural Networks and its applications to real world problems, namely in Text and Data Mining. He teaches at FCT/UNL since October 2001.
Currently, Nuno Marques' work combines Machine Learning in Artificial Neural Networks and its application to real world problems. Since 2009, he has been developing Text and Data Mining concepts to apply to Financial Data Streams. Currently he is trying to apply Artificial Neural Networks for the SLMR (Stop Loss - Maximum Return) investment strategy.
Nuno Marques work on text mining is currently focusing word disambiguation, sentiment mining and semantic maps.
Nuno Marques is also involved in several research projects bringing together the university and private companies.
